Khalid bin Waleed, was the great warrior and the general of Muslim army of his time. Before converting to Islam, he fought against Muslims but after accepting Islam, he fought bravely and courageously against the enemies of Islam. 
 

During the time of his early age, he learnt the art of war like horse riding, sword fighting and archery. He was highly respected among the Quraish and after the death of his father, he became the leader of Quraish and made the position of Quraish stable by defeating Muslims in the battle of Uhud and in the battle of the Khandaq (Trench).

When the Muslims came to Makkah for performing Hajj, Khalid bin Waleed left the Makkah because it was not tolerable for him to seeing Muslims in Makkah but when he saw that Muslims came every year and without hurting anyone they went back to their cities. He was quiet impressed by the behavior of Muslims, this thing softens his heart and he decided to accept Islam. 
 

When he came to know about the teachings of Islam properly, he went to the Medina and converted to the religion of Islam. He went to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and asked him to forgive on his bad deeds, he also requested to Holy Prophet (PBUH) to pray for his forgiveness from Allah Almighty.
 

Being an active Muslim, Hadrat Khalid bin Waleed also acted as the commander of Muslim army. He fought many battles with bravery, skills and made Muslim army victorious against Kufaar. He always fought for the cause of truth and that was the reason behind his unbeatable command. Holy Prophet (PBUH) gave him the title of Saifullah – Sword of Allah. Khalid bin Waleed died in 642.
